To cry or not to cry

I woke up with an idea to start a blog. Now before this I have written articles but they were of mixed genre. So for me to pin down upon a genre for blogging was not so easy. The next thing was deciding the pen name. I was tempted to use chatgpt but felt that it would not be right on part of my morale to use AI in field of creativity at such an early stage. So this way after spending some time I came with a pen name and a blogging idea.
So it all began with me reading the Pune Times ,the supplement along with Times of India which is the only newspaper I read, because we were told in school to read newspaper but were not told any specific paper to read.
Now it is enough beating round the bush. What I read was an debate about 'should you be embarrassed about crying in a cinema hall' and that was the breakthrough.
Immediately I sat down with my phone and started penning rather typing.
There are many movies where I have cried but I am not embarrassed for crying but, I am embarrassed for causing my parents to leave the movie midway because of me crying.I still vividly remember ,that we were watching Jodha Akbar at home. Those were the days when OTT was still a futuristic idea and CDs were available.
We all were having a family time while watching it and no sooner did the scene came where he is shot by an arrow than I began to cry. I made my parents to stop the movie and console me but that was not enough. The movie ended halfway with us watching Ninja Hattori for another 3 hours instead of movie.
So the mockery and trolling faced by people for crying during Saiyaara really made me wonder that should I now be embarrassed for crying during movies or laugh at the fact that I cried and made everyone else laugh...

  1. To emote is absolutely fine. Many movies have evoked a range of emotions in me too.
There have been some beautiful movies in the past too where people have responded in over the board fashion. Sadma , Akhiyon ke jharokon se , Maher chi Sadi are just few examples I can think of . Personally it's Tom & Jerry work for me as it successfully brought out the child within.

Keep blogging. Helps bring out those emotions very effectively

  3. Nicely put. When it comes to what others might think, we should not worry about it at all as long as we know what we are doing is not unethical or something of that sort. At the end of the day, what matters is your own happiness. लोग तो कहते रहेंगे लोगोंका काम है कहना।
